Perennials – our favorite flowers

At Red Gate Farm, we like to grow perennials because they make life simpler. They come back every year, tend to get bigger each year, and they are great for flower bouquets. There is a lavender field behind the greenhouse, a new lavender patch to the left (East) of the farm stand, and the new raised beds near the road have lavender in them.

We typically plant annuals too: cosmos, bachelor buttons, snapdragons, zinnias, sunflowers, and anything else that looks good in the seed catalog in the dead of winter. Making the flower bouquets is a favorite task at the farm, we hope you’ll come see what we’re growing this year.

Lavender ❤
