(from an old post but hoping to get back to flowers soon)
Perennials – our favorite flowers

At Red Gate Farm, we like to grow perennials because they make life simpler. They come back every year, tend to get bigger each year, and they are great for flower bouquets. We typically plant annuals too: cosmos, bachelor buttons, snapdragons, zinnias, sunflowers, and anything else that looks good in the seed catalog in the dead of winter. Making the flower bouquets is a favorite task at the farm, we hope you’ll come see what we’re growing this year.
Since moving mid-2022, I’ve been building the infrastructure in the gardens. I’ve got a fenced garden that will be for flowers, both perennials and annuals, and a fenced garden for veggies and herbs. I’ve also got a new greenhouse and will start plants from seeds this year for the garden. I’m not sure yet if I’ll be selling the plant starts, but am very excited to start getting my hands dirty. It’s been a few years since I made bouquets and I am really looking forward to that this year.
The pictures below are from my old location, but I hope to build up a lavender garden at my “new” place too. Stay tuned, I’ll update here as I have more to share. All my best, Andria
